Dr. Curry is a Professor and Associate Head in the Department of Environmental Science. Her primary focus is instruction involving active learning and inquiry based approaches. She teaches courses at all levels ranging from a large General Education course in the Fundamentals of Environmental Science to a graduate course in Interfacial Chemistry. She has worked extensively with the NSF IUSE Teaching Teams project and facilitates a professional learning community to support colleagues in implementing teaching teams in their courses. She has been awarded the Provost’s Award for Innovation in Teaching and is a College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Cardon Academy of Teaching Excellence Fellow. Currently she is the Chair of the University Wide General Education Committee. Biosphere 2 is a unique learning environment. She is interested in fostering development of accessible experiential learning opportunities for large numbers of students through remote as well as on-site data collection from the array of Biosphere 2 opportunities in areas such as climate, soil and plant health and water quality.
